Intervals divide your meditation time in equals parts. If you add one interval bell, it will play exactly in the middle of your meditation. If you add two, they will play at 1/3 and 2/3. Three will play at 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4. And so on.
Random intervals play at random times (but not too random, granularity is 1 minute).
